The South Simcoe Police Street Crime Unit consists of plainclothes detectives who are responsible for investigating both drug and property related crimes.

The members investigate all major drug investigations, such as indoor Marihuana growing operations (“grow ops”) and all clandestine drug labs. Recent undercover police operations such as Project Full
Moon and Project Talon have been successfully initiated to help identify and curb street level criminality.  Officers are trained in plain clothes surveillance to assist in gathering vital intelligence to further investigations.

Property crime investigations range from break ins of both residential and commercial locations, auto theft, “Chop Shops”, theft from cars, to mischief, which includes a recent investigation into a rash of graffiti in the Town of Innisfil.
