The Community Services Unit has the responsibility of educating, informing and co-operating with the public.
Our two Special Constables work with the elementary schools, delivering the #BTRU Be the real you curriculum to grade 5 students, providing enhanced tools for keeping youth safe and drug free .
They also help out with school bus safety, breakfast programs, and the ever popular Junior Chief for a Day contest.
In addition, our Community Services officers, in association with the schools, assist with the schools lockdown drills twice a year. The students are taught and drilled on how to take refuge in the school in an emergency situation.
This bureau offers the following services to area schools and the community at large:
- School Safety Programs
- Bicycle Safety
- Drug and Alcohol Abuse Awareness
- Crime Prevention Awareness
