Neighbourhood Watch is a program aimed at reducing crime in the community, through the active participation of citizens in crime prevention. It involves getting to know one’s neighbours and working together to combat crime in your area the most effective way – before it starts.
Very few people are in a position to protect their homes and property all of the time and the Neighbourhood Watch program can help to provide a sense of security for individuals or families who leave their homes for any length of time. The program also helps to co-ordinate the efforts of the police and the community in tracking down criminals.
Neighbourhood Watch is a program that is supported by South Simcoe Police. If you are interested in obtaining more information about Neighbourhood Watch, please contact our Community Services Unit.
