UPDATE ON MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION INVESTIGATIONS: DRIVERS CHARGED
(BRADFORD, ON) – On March 6, 2025, at approximately 1:40 p.m., South Simcoe Police responded to a report of a serious head-on motor vehicle collision in the area of County Road 27 near Line 9 in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury. Multiple parties sustained serious injuries and were transported to hospital. One occupant was airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre.
Members of the South Simcoe Police Traffic and Marine Unit attended the scene to conduct the investigation. As a result of the investigation, a 65-year-old male from Alliston has been charged with careless driving causing bodily harm or death, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 9, 2026.
In a separate incident, on July 26, 2025, at approximately 4:30 p.m., South Simcoe Police responded to a report of a personal injury motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck in the area of Holland Street West and Church Street in Bradford West Gwillimbury. As a result of the collision, the driver of the motorcycle was transported to a local hospital and was subsequently airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre for care.
Members of the South Simcoe Police Traffic and Marine Unit attended the scene to conduct the investigation. The investigation determined that the contributing cause of the collision was the turning movement of the pickup truck across the path of the motorcycle, resulting in serious, life-altering injuries to the motorcycle driver. As a result, a 35-year-old female from Bradford has been charged with careless driving causing bodily harm or death, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. She is scheduled to appear in court on March 9, 2026.

These incidents serve as a reminder of the importance of safe, attentive, and responsible driving. Drivers are reminded to obey traffic laws and operate their vehicles safely to help prevent serious injuries and fatalities.
