SOUTH SIMCOE POLICE SERVICE – OPERATION IMPACT 2025 RESULTS
(INNISFIL/BRADFORD, ON) – Over the Thanksgiving long weekend, South Simcoe Police officers conducted focused traffic enforcement and RIDE programs across Innisfil and Bradford as part of Operation Impact 2025, a national campaign promoting road safety under the theme “Safety is in MY hands.”
Between October 10 and 13, Uniform patrol, Traffic and Community Response Unit officers laid 146 charges in addition to responding to regular calls for service:
• 114 under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA)
• 30 under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA)
• 2 Criminal Code s. 320 impaired-driving offences
Key Results
Officers focused on high-risk driving behaviours, unsafe vehicles, and insurance compliance. Among the most frequent charges:
• Speeding (HTA 128)
• Fail to stop at stop sign (HTA 136(1)(a)
• Operate unsafe vehicle / mechanical defect (HTA 84, 85)
• Novice driver – presence of drug (HTA 44.1(3))
• Drive motor vehicle – no insurance (CAIA 2(1)(a))
• Fail to surrender insurance card (CAIA 3(1))
• Drive motor vehicle – no currently validated permit (HTA 7(1)(a))
• Obstruct plate (HTA 13(2))
Traffic safety is a shared responsibility between police and the community. Each year on average six people lose their lives on roads in Innisfil and Bradford, and many more are seriously injured in preventable collisions. Enforcement plays a role, but lasting change comes when every driver takes ownership of their decisions behind the wheel. Drive sober, slow down, stay focused, and make every decision behind the wheel one that keeps you and other road uses safe.
