SOUTH SIMCOE POLICE PARTNERS WITH THE COMMUNITY FOR
CRIME PREVENTION WEEK 2025: WORKING TOGETHER TO PROTECT ONTARIO
(INNISFIL/BRADFORD, ON) – The South Simcoe Police Service, in partnership with the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) and the Government of Ontario, is proud to take part in Ontario’s annual Crime Prevention Week, running from November 2 to 8, 2025.
This year’s theme, “Working Together to Protect Ontario,” emphasizes that crime prevention is everyone’s responsibility – it takes the combined efforts of police, government, community partners, businesses, and residents to protect our communities.
Preventing crime begins with strong community relationships. Crime impacts everyone – when one person becomes a victim, the entire community is affected. By working together, police officers, residents, and local organizations can create meaningful solutions that reduce victimization and promote safety for all.
Throughout the week, the South Simcoe Police Service will join police services across Ontario in highlighting key priorities that strengthen community safety. These include focusing on crimes against persons by preventing violence and harm, supporting local businesses in addressing theft and fraud, reducing victimization by empowering citizens through education and prevention programs, and promoting initiatives that enhance accountability and public trust.
Crime Prevention Week is an important reminder that safety starts with collaboration. By sharing information, staying vigilant, and looking out for one another, together – we can make a real difference in preventing crime before it happens.
As part of Crime Prevention Week, South Simcoe Police will host a series of community initiatives, including education and awareness events and engagement sessions to help the public learn more about how they can contribute to protecting their communities.
Crime Prevention Week is supported by the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) and the Ministry of the Solicitor General. For more information about local Crime Prevention Week events, visit the South Simcoe Police Service on social media or the OACP website at www.oacp.ca.
