SOUTH SIMCOE POLICE ARREST FEMALE AFTER ASSAULT ON POLICE DURING BREAK-IN

(INNISFIL, ON) – On August 24, 2025, at approximately 4:30 a.m., South Simcoe Police responded to a call from a homeowner reporting a female in distress who was requesting assistance and attempting to enter a residence on Ireton Street in the Town of Innisfil.

Upon arrival on scene, South Simcoe Police discovered the female had entered the residence through a window without the homeowners’ consent. Through investigation, police detected a strong odour of alcohol emanating from the female’s breath. During the investigation, the female became combative and proceeded to bite the police officer on the arm. The officer sustained minor injuries however did not require medical attention.

As a result, a 33-year-old from Napanee, Ontario, was arrested and charged with:

• Assault on Peace Officer – C.C. 270(1)(a)
• Break, Enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence – C.C. 348(1)(a)

The accused is scheduled to appear in court on September 25, 2025.
