HAZARDOUS PACKAGE INVESTIGATION: NO RISK TO PUBLIC SAFETY
(INNISFIL, ON) – On September 10, 2025, shortly after 12:00 p.m., South Simcoe Police responded to a report regarding a package containing possible radioactive material. The package was located secure in a vehicle parked at a retail plaza on Innisfil Beach Road in the Town of Innisfil.
Emergency Services from Innisfil and Barrie are currently on scene. A perimeter has been established to allow for a thorough assessment and to assist with the proper disposal of the material. At this time, there is no threat to public safety. The investigation remains ongoing.
Police are asking members of the public to avoid the area to ensure the safety of both the community and first responders.
