(INNISFIL, ON) – This update follows a media release issued on April 23, 2026, regarding the South Simcoe Police investigation into the April 10, 2026, incident involving an act of vandalism which occurred at the Islamic Centre in the Town of Innisfil.
The investigation was conducted by the South Simcoe Police Criminal Investigative Services – Intelligence Branch, along with front-line patrol officers. Through the investigation, police identified the suspect and as a result, a 66-year-old male from Innisfil was charged under the Criminal Code with Mischief to Religious Property – not exceeding $5,000.00. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on July 16, 2026. South Simcoe Police would like to thank members of the public for their assistance with this investigation.
