(INNISFIL, ON) – South Simcoe Police officers have recovered more than $165,000 worth of stolen vehicles and property following an investigation into a theft in progress in the Town of Innisfil.
On September 7, 2026, at approximately 4:20 a.m., police observed a vehicle and encountered suspects who were actively involved in a theft at an industrial site on Yonge Street in Innisfil. Additional officers were called to the scene and searched the surrounding area; however, the suspects were able to evade police.
As a result of the investigation, police recovered a 2016 Ford F-550, a 2012 Kubota R520S wheel loader, and four large spools of aluminum conductor wire, each weighing approximately 2,500 pounds. The total value of the recovered vehicles and property is estimated to be more than $165,000.00.
Further investigation determined that the Ford F-550 had been reported stolen from Richmond Hill approximately one month earlier, while the Kubota wheel loader had been reported stolen from Milton in November 2025.
Police determined that significant efforts had been made to conceal the identities of both stolen vehicles. Identifying marks had been removed from the Ford F-550. The Kubota wheel loader had been repainted, and identifying information and its rollover protection structure had been removed. Despite these alterations, officers were able to identify both vehicles through further examination and confirm their rightful owners. Arrangements are currently being made to return the recovered vehicles and property to their owners.
The investigation remains ongoing.
