Driver Charged After Pedestrian Struck in Bradford

(BRADFORD, ON) – On October 6, 2026, at approximately 12:40 p.m., South Simcoe Police responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle at the intersection of Holland Street West and West Park Avenue in Bradford West Gwillimbury.

Emergency services attended the scene. Through the investigation, police determined that the driver of a Honda minivan was making a turn from West Park Avenue onto Holland Street West when the vehicle entered the pedestrian crosswalk and struck a pedestrian who was crossing while the pedestrian signal was active and operational.

The pedestrian sustained minor, non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital.

As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old male from North York was charged with Careless Driving under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) section 130(1). The accused is scheduled to appear in court on November 10, 2026.
