South Simcoe Police Highlights Community Partnerships During Crime Prevention Week

Protecting Ontario Together

(INNISFIL/bradford, ON) – The South Simcoe Police Service is joining police services and community partners across Ontario to recognize Crime Prevention Week, November 1–7, 2026. This year’s theme, “Protecting Ontario Together,” emphasizes the important role everyone plays in preventing crime and building safer communities.

Crime prevention is a shared responsibility. Through education, awareness, reporting and strong community partnerships, residents, businesses and police can work together to address local safety concerns and reduce victimization.

Reflecting this year’s theme, “Protecting Ontario Together,” South Simcoe Police continues to work with schools and community partners to promote public education and safety. This fall, service members have delivered or scheduled 118 school visits and presentations focused on e-scooter, e-bike and helmet safety, along with eight fraud and scam prevention presentations for community members, helping residents of all ages stay informed, recognize risks and make safer choices.

As part of Crime Prevention Week, members of the South Simcoe Police Community Response Unit will be connecting with community and public members through the following events:

Crime Prevention Week Community Events

November 2: Teen Night – Crime Prevention Trivia: Morgan Russell Memorial Arena, 5-7:30PM. For youth ages 12-17.

These conversations reinforce this year’s theme, “Protecting Ontario Together,” and the important role we all play in building safer communities.

Report It So We Can Solve It

South Simcoe Police reminds residents that reporting crime, even incidents that may seem minor, helps police identify trends, connect suspects to offences and prevent further victimization. Non-emergency incidents, including eligible theft offences, can be reported through the South Simcoe Police Service’s online reporting tool at www.southsimcoepolice.on.ca by selecting Report Online on the homepage.

Crime Prevention Week is supported by the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) and the Government of Ontario. For more information, visit www.oacp.ca.
