(INNISFIL, ON) – On May 3, 2026, at approximately 6:55 p.m., South Simcoe Police received a report of a disturbance at a licensed premises on Church Street in the Town of Innisfil.
Initial information indicated that a physical altercation had occurred inside the premises. During the incident, a male was heard yelling that he was known to police and that he had a firearm, which he threatened to use. No firearm was observed and no injuries were reported.
At approximately 7:10 p.m., officers arrived on scene and located the male suspect outside the premises. Through the investigation, officers located a replica firearm in the suspect’s backpack, which was in his possession. The accused was found to be in contravention of an existing firearm/weapons prohibition condition.
As a result, a 45-year-old male from Innisfil has been charged with:
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose (Criminal Code, s. 88)
- Failure to Comply with Undertaking (Criminal Code, s. 145(4)(a))
- Causing a Disturbance (Criminal Code, s. 175(1)(a))
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 23, 2026.
