Hire a Paid Duty Officer
Hire an off-duty police officer for traffic control or security at a special event.
We are committed to delivering quality service to the community. The Paid Duty Program allows clients to hire off-duty officers on a contract basis, ensuring police presence while enhancing safety, security, and order at your event. Officers are available for various assignments, including:
- Community events
- Festivals and concerts
- Film productions
- Traffic Control
- Meetings or Hearings
- Parades
- Private functions
- Road construction
- Sporting events
- Funerals
- Wide load escort
- Events must be within the jurisdiction of the South Simcoe Police Service; Bradford West Gwillimbury or Innisfil only
- Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will result in a charge of 4 hours per officer assigned
- Requests made with less than 5 business days’ notice will result in an administrative fee of $100
Each request will be reviewed to ensure that it falls within the mandate of the Paid Duty Section. The Paid Duty Coordinator reserves the right to determine the number of officers required for an event based upon a risk assessment. Services will only be provided when all parties agree, and all required positions are filled.
Paid Duty Rates – *Subject to change without notice
- Constables – $81.00/hr
- Sergeants – $90.70/hr
- Staff Sergeants – $101.60/hr
- Vehicles – $40/hr
- Vessels – $175/hr
- Administrative 20% fee – added to each Paid Duty Request
There is a 4-hour minimum booking for each officer or equipment requested.
Police Officers are not permitted to accept payment at the event. Upon completion of the Paid Duty, an invoice will be emailed to the client. Any additional fees as a result of extended hours will be billed to the client accordingly.
