(BRADFORD, ON) – On August 8, 2026, at approximately 1:00 a.m., South Simcoe Police received a report of a youth on an e-bike causing a disturbance at a business in the area of Holland Street West in Bradford West Gwillimbury. The youth was reported to have refused to leave the drive-thru area on an e-bike and subsequently took food from the business without paying.
Officers located a youth matching the description a short distance away on an e-bike and attempted to conduct a stop. The youth failed to comply with police direction and fled from officers.
Later that same day, at approximately 6:00 p.m., South Simcoe Police responded to the same area for reports of a youth causing a disturbance at a local business. Police also received information that the same youth had been operating an e-bike at a high rate of speed through a crowded public area, causing potential safety issues.
Officers located the youth and attempted to speak with them. The youth repeatedly failed to comply with police direction and fled from officers on an e-bike.
The youth was subsequently arrested. During the investigation, officers located four unopened alcoholic beverages in the youth’s possession.
As a result of the investigation, the 17-year-old youth from Bradford has been charged with:
• Theft Under $5,000
• Two counts of Flight from Peace Officer
• Obstruct Peace Officer
• Dangerous Operation
• Person Under 19 Years Having Liquor
• Fail to Identify Self
• Drive Motor Vehicle – No Permit
• Drive Motor Vehicle – No Licence
• Owner Operate Motor Vehicle on a Highway – No Insurance
The youth was released from custody on an undertaking with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court on October 6, 2026.
