Youth aged 12 to 17 may ONLY apply for Police Records Checks for Government (federal, provincial, municipal) Agencies.
As of November 1, 2018, Youths aged 12 to 17 shall only be permitted to obtain Police Records Check for positions working or volunteering with the Government of Canada, or the government of a province or municipality for purposes of employment or the performance of services, with or without remuneration.
Non-government agencies are not authorized to receive any results of any youth records and Youths will no longer be permitted to apply for any level of Police Records Check.
To require applicants to apply and pay for a Police Records Check when no results will be released is not in the best interest of applicants, the police service and the community.
Non-government agencies include, but are not limited to, organizations receiving government funding such as schools, universities or hospitals.
Police Record Check Results
The results of your Police Records Check to a government agency will be sent directly to the agency and you will receive a copy.
On December 1, 2015, the Ontario government passed Bill 113, the Police Record Checks Reform Act, 2015, For more information about the Act, visit Ontario.ca or mcscs.jus.gov.on.ca.
