Arrest In Theft From Vehicle

(Bradford, ON) South Simcoe Police Service officers made an arrest after a Bradford resident confronted a thief going through his vehicle.

On Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at approximately 8:50 p.m., police were called to a home in the Centre Street and Simcoe Road area in Bradford regarding a theft from a vehicle. When officers arrived, they learned that a man had confronted a suspect that was going through his vehicle. The man approached the suspect who pulled out a knife before fleeing on foot. Additional officers responded to the area and the suspect was arrested at a gas station on Holland Street East. Police seized the knife and no one was injured.

36-year-old William Pyke of no fixed address was charged with Theft Under $5,000 From a Motor Vehicle, Carrying Concealed Weapon, Assault With a Weapon and 3 counts of Breach of Probation Order.
