UPDATE: Fraud Suspect for Identification – Vehicle Recovered 

(Bradford, ON)  South Simcoe Police Service officers have recovered a vehicle at the centre of a fraud investigation.

On Tuesday, December 18, 2018, around 11:30 a.m., officers from the Criminal Investigation Bureau located the 2015, white, Mercedes SUV GLK500 on Dundas St. East in Toronto.

The vehicle has been returned to the owner in Bradford. Detectives are still trying to identify a suspect.

The investigation began on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, when police were called to a Bradford home by a resident who had advertised a vehicle for sale online. A prospective buyer came to the seller’s home on Saturday, December 8, 2018, with a cheque to purchase the vehicle. The seller signed over the vehicle to the suspect but was later notified by the bank that the cheque was fraudulent.

Officers are once again releasing security camera images in an effort to identify the suspect.
