Speeding/Stunt Driving

(Innisfil, ON) A 61-year-old Thornton man was charged with Speeding and Stunt Driving following a traffic stop in Innisfil

On Tuesday, August 4, 2020, around 5:30 p.m., a South Simcoe Police Service officer observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on County Road 27.

A speed measurement was obtained of 114 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone. 61-year-old Pietro Marson of Thornton was charged with Speeding and Stunt Driving.

His licence was suspended for seven days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.

Fail To Remain/Warn Range Suspension

(Innisfil, ON) On Wednesday, August 5, 2020, around 3:00 a.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers were called to the Sideroad 20 and Lormel Gate area in Innisfil regarding a suspicious, abandoned vehicle. When police arrived, they saw a vehicle with significant damage that had mounted the curb. Investigation led police to a nearby home where police located the driver. 28-year-old Deanna Baxter of Innisfil was charged with Fail to Remain at the Scene of an Accident. She was issued a 3-day licence suspension after a warn range result on a roadside screening device test.

On Tuesday, August 4, 2020, South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to 79 calls for service.
