UPDATE: Fatal Collision
(Innisfil, ON) The South Simcoe Police Service has laid charges in connection to a fatal collision that took place on May 11, 2024, in the Town of Innisfil.
On Saturday, May 11, 2024, at approximately 1:55 a.m., police responded to a serious collision in the area of Yonge Street and 9th Line in Innisfil. The investigation revealed that a Chevrolet Impala and a Volkswagen Jetta were traveling in opposite directions when the Impala crossed into the oncoming lane and struck the Jetta head-on.
A 33-year-old woman from Barrie, driving the Chevrolet Impala, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Following an investigation, including a review of the toxicology report for the driver of the Volkswagen Jetta, the South Simcoe Police Traffic Unit has charged a 32-year-old woman from Bradford with Operation While Impaired – Alcohol.
