Impaired Driving Charges

(Bradford, ON) On Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at approximately 6:00 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to a report of a suspected impaired driver in Bradford. Multiple callers reported that a vehicle was driving erratically with its hazard lights on southbound on Yonge Street. A traffic stop was conducted on Barrie Street and the driver was arrested for impaired driving. As a result of the investigation, 38-year-old Karthikan Kasalingam of Toronto was charged with Operation While Impaired, Dangerous Operation and Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.

(Bradford, ON) On Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at approximately 7:16 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers were dispatched to the area of West Park Avenue and Holland Street West for a report of an erratic driver. The vehicle was located in a nearby driveway and the driver was arrested for Impaired Operation. As a result of the investigation, 25-year-old Keyter Kuzhangaira of Bradford was charged with Operation While Impaired, Operation While Impaired – Excess Blood Alcohol, and Dangerous Operation. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.

We are grateful to the citizens who called us to report these incidents. Our roads are safer when we work together. Two drivers charged with impaired driving within an hour of each other is very distressing and disappointing. Please make better choices for your safety and the safety of other motorists and pedestrians. Drive sober or don’t drive.
