Impaired Driving

(Bradford/Innisfil, ON) The South Simcoe Police Service laid the following impaired driving charges from Thursday, September 2, 2021 to Monday, September 6, 2021:

-On Monday, September 6, 2021 at approximately 11:30 p.m., police were called regarding a possible impaired driver travelling from York Region into Bradford.
Police received a second call that reported the same vehicle had been in a collision on Holland Street and the driver had fled on foot. There were no injuries. The driver was located nearby and arrested for impaired driving and fail to stop. A 30-year-old Bradford man was turned over to York Regional Police officers.

-On Monday, September 6, 2021, just after midnight, an officer observed a vehicle driving erratically southbound on Simcoe Street in Bradford. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was arrested. As a result of the investigation, 39-year-old Tiago Da Silva Marques of Bradford was charged Operation While Impaired and Operation While Impaired – Excess Blood Alcohol. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.

-On Sunday, September 5, 2021, at approximately 8:20 p.m., police were called about a possible impaired driver travelling southbound on County Road 4 in Innisfil.
A vehicle stop was conducted and the driver was arrested. As a result of the investigation, 44-year-old Gyulak Bednarik of Bradford was charged Operation While Impaired, Operation While Impaired – Excess Blood Alcohol, Open Liquor in the Vehicle, Cannabis Readily Available and Novice Driver BAC Above Zero. His licence was suspended for 90 days with the vehicle impounded for seven.

-On Sunday, September 5, 2021, at approximately 10:49 p.m., police were called to the area of Innisfil Beach Road and 5 Sideroad in Innisfil for a two-vehicle collision. No one was hurt. One of the vehicles left the scene but was subsequently located nearby. As a result of the investigation, 32-year-old Anastasha Hill of Barrie was charged with two counts Obstruct Peace Officer, Operation While Impaired, Operation While Impaired – Excess Blood Alcohol and Dangerous Operation. Her licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for 45 days.

-On Thursday, September 2, 2021, at approximately 10:30 p.m., police responded to a driving complaint in the area of Line 10 and Yonge Street in Bradford. Police located the vehicle, conducted a traffic stop and the driver was arrested. As a result of the investigation, 36-year-old Michael Maran of Toronto was charged with Dangerous Operation, Operation While Impaired and Operation While Impaired – Excess Blood Alcohol.
