Possession of Stolen Property
(Innisfil, ON) A 55-year-old Innisfil man was charged with Possession of Stolen Property after South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to a trailer fire.
On Tuesday, September 3, 2019 around 2:00 p.m., police were called to a report of a trailer on fire on the 2nd Line of Innisfil. Through investigation it was determined that the trailer was reported stolen to Ottawa Police. As a result, a 55-year-old Innisfil man was arrested at the scene and charged with Possession of Stolen Property. The fire is not believed to be suspicious and no one was injured.
Fraud Call Leads to Multiple Charges including Flight From Police
(Bradford, ON) A 25-year-old Innisfil man is facing numerous charges after a fraud in progress call resulted in a police chase.
On Monday, September 2, 2019 around 1:00 P.M., South Simcoe Police Service officers were called to a fraud in progress at a cash advance store on Bridge Street in Bradford. When police arrived, the suspect vehicle sped from the parking lot at a high rate of speed narrowly missing a cruiser and driving erratically on Bridge Street. Police followed briefly before terminating the pursuit for public safety. Investigation revealed the suspect vehicle was reported stolen in Ottawa. Police received several calls from motorists regarding a vehicle driving erratically as it headed towards Innisfil. At one point, officers deployed a tire deflation device on Yonge Street in Churchill as a pursuit alternative. The deployment was successful and the suspect vehicle stopped nearby. The driver fled on foot but subsequently surrendered to police.

Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
Possession of stolen goods
Possession of property obtained by crime
Personation with intent
Possession of Identity Document (7 counts)
Breach of probation (3 counts)
The accused was held for a bail hearing. Fortunately and incredibly, no one was injured during this incident.
(Innisfil, ON) A 32-year-old Toronto man was charged with impaired driving-related offences after police stopped a speeding vehicle in Innisfil.
On Sunday, September 1, 2019 around 10:00 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers conducting traffic enforcement near King Street and East John Street observed a vehicle travelling at 71 km/h in a posted 40 km/h Community Safety Zone. A traffic stop was conducted and the male driver failed a roadside screening device test. Breath tests conducted at North Division resulted in charges of Impaired Operation and Over 80 against a 32-year-old Toronto man. He was also charged with Speeding. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.
