Impaired Driving

(Innisfil, ON) On Monday, September 20, 2021, at approximately 6:00 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to a call regarding a suspected impaired driver in the area of Innisfil Beach Road and 10 Sideroad. The vehicle was located and the driver was arrested. As a result of the investigation, 47-year-old Vitaly Rabcav of Innisfil was charged with Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand. He was released with a future court date. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.

(Innisfil, ON) On Monday, September 20, 2021, at approximately 1:15 a.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers were called to the area of Highway 400 and County Road 89 in Innisfil for a vehicle driving erratically that went into a ditch. The driver was not injured. As a result of the investigation, 29-year-old Christian Quiroz Villamar of Innisfil was charged with Operation While Impaired, Operation While Impaired – Excess Blood Alcohol and Dangerous Operation. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. He was released with a future court date.

(Bradford, ON) On Saturday, September 18, 2021, at 12:47 a.m., police were dispatched to a gas station parking lot on Holland Street East in Bradford for a report of a man slumped over the wheel of a car. The man was cleared medically by paramedics. As a result of the investigation, 21-year-old Terrence Smith of Bradford was charged with Operation While Impaired and Operation While Impaired – Excess Blood Alcohol. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. He was released with a future court date.

Impaired driving is a crime in progress. Thank you to the citizens who call 911 to report suspected impaired drivers. By working together, we can keep our roads safe.
FYI: A charge of Failure or Refusal to Comply with a Demand for Alcohol or Drug testing has the same immediate consequences as failing a test by a Drug Recognition Expert or registering a Blood Alcohol Concentration of 80 and over.
