(Innisifl, ON) South Simcoe Police Service officers are appealing for the public’s help to solve a distraction theft at a Cookstown convenience store.
On Sunday, September 9, 2018 around 4:30 p.m., police were called to a store on King St. South in Cookstown for a report of a theft. Once on scene, officers learned that seven suspects entered the store and distracted the lone employee. While that was occurring, one suspect went into a back room and removed a quantity of cash. The entire incident lasted four minutes. The suspects were 2 men and five women who left the scene in a white minivan. The employee did not discover the theft until later that evening.

REMINDER: 7th Line One Way
(Innisfil, ON) South Simcoe Police Service continues to receive reports of wrong-way drivers on the 7th Line in Innisfil.
In July, the Town of Innisfil announced that the 7th Line was to operate as one-way road from Yonge Street to 10 Sideroad until further notice while an Environmental Assessment is completed.
We’re reminding drivers of the change on the 7th Line – the first one-way road in Innisfil’s history. Wrong way drivers face a fine of $110.00 and 3 demerit points. Please respect the change for safety’s sake. It’s a dangerous practice that could end in a tragedy.
On Monday, September 10, 2018, South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to 58 calls for service.
