Impaired Driving 

(Bradford, ON) On Monday, October, 26, 2020, around 4:00 p.m., a South Simcoe Police Service officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for not using a turn signal in the Melbourne Drive and Miller Park area of Bradford. The driver was arrested for impaired operation and transported to South Division. As a result of an investigation, 45-year-old Melvin Hill of Bradford was charged with Over 80 and Fail to Signal for a Turn. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.

Stunt Driving/Speeding 

(Innisfil, ON) On Monday, October 26, 2020, at approximately 4:30 p.m., a South Simcoe Police Service officer on patrol observed a vehicle travelling erratically and at a high rate of speed on Innisfil Beach Road near County Road 4 in Innisfil. A speed measurement was obtained of 118 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone. A vehicle stop was conducted. 18-year-old Jackson Hooks of Innisfil was charged with Speeding and Stunt Driving. His licence was suspended for seven days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.

3-Day Suspension 

(Bradford, ON) On Monday, October 26, 2020, at approximately 9:00 p.m., a South Simcoe Police Service officer patrolling the area of Holland Street West and Professor Day Drive in Bradford observed a westbound vehicle without head lights or tail lights. A traffic stop was conducted. After detecting an odour of cannabis from inside the car, a roadside drug screening device test was done. As a result, 19-year-old Madison Mackenzie of Bradford was issued a 3-day licence suspension. She was charged with driving without proper head lights and for being a novice driver with drugs present.

On Monday, October 26, 2020, South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to 72 calls for service.
