UPDATE: Arrest in Theft at Bradford High School
(Bradford, ON) South Simcoe Police Service officers have made an arrest following a theft at a Bradford high school.
On Monday, October 19, 2020, at approximately 10:30 a.m., police were called to Bradford District High School on Professor Day Drive in Bradford. Once on scene, officers learned that just before 9:30 a.m., an unknown male suspect entered the school. The suspect was approached by staff and he identified himself as a new registrant, which the school was expecting. The suspect then entered a classroom and stole computer equipment before leaving the school.
On Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at 12:30 a.m., police responded to a Bradford home for an unwanted person call. As a result of an investigation, a man was arrested at the scene in connection with the theft and police seized a number of items.
Charged with Theft and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime is 21-year-old Thomas Burt of Maple. The accused was transported to South Division and subsequently released with a future court date.
