JOINT FESTIVE RIDE LAUNCH IN CENTRAL REGION

(Bradford/Innisfil, ON) The South Simcoe Police Service, along with our policing partners, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Central Region and Barrie Police Service, are officially launching the Festive RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) campaign on November 18, 2021.

The Festive RIDE campaign, which runs until January 2, 2022, is led by the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) and involves a collaboration among Ontario police services to keep roads free of alcohol-impaired and drug-impaired drivers. During the campaign, officers will be highly visible as they conduct RIDE initiatives 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Media are invited to attend the event. COVID-19 protocols are in effect. One-on-one interviews will be available following the formal event. Speakers include representatives from OPP Central Region, Barrie Police Service, South Simcoe Police Service, Victim Services of Simcoe County and MADD Barrie.
