Suspect(s) Sought in Carjacking in Innisfil
(Innisfil ON) The South Simcoe Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance following an armed carjacking in Innisfil.
On Monday, May 16, 2022, at approximately 12: 10 p.m., the victim, a 77-year-old Barrie woman arrived at the Tim Horton’s located on Commerce Park Drive in Innisfil.
After the victim parked and exited her vehicle, she was approached in the parking lot by a male suspect armed with a knife. The suspect grabbed the victim’s car keys and pushed her to the ground before getting into the victim’s vehicle and fleeing the scene. Police later recovered the stolen vehicle in another jurisdiction.
The victim sustained minor injuries as result of the incident.
The South Simcoe Police Service is seeking witnesses and security/dash camera video in relation to this incident. Investigators are working with several policing partners in the Greater Toronto Area as part of a multi-jurisdictional effort to apprehend the suspect (s) responsible for this offence.

Police would like to remind citizens that no vehicle is worth your life. A car can be replaced but your life cannot. If you are approached by thieves, remain calm and comply. Don’t fight back and call 911 as soon as possible.
