Stunt Driving

(Innisfil, ON) On Thursday, June 20, 2024, at approximately 10:40 p.m., police were conducting speed enforcement in the area of 10th Sideroad and 2nd Line in the Town of Innisfil. A vehicle was observed at a high rate of speed which was 158 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. Police conducted a traffic stop and a 17-year-old from Innisfil was charged with Stunt Driving and Speeding. The vehicle was impounded for 14 days and their licence was immediately suspended for 30 days.

Suspended Driver

(Innisfil, ON) On Friday, June 27, 2024, at approximately 11:00 a.m., officers were conducting patrols in the Town of Innisfil when Automated Licence Plate Recognition technology alerted police to a licence plate that was unattached. As a result of a traffic stop, a 30-year-old male from Innisfil was charged with multiple provincial offences: Use Plate Not Authorized for Vehicle, Driving Under Suspension, and Owner Operate Motor Vehicle on Highway – No Insurance. This was the fourth time in 2024 that the male driver had been charged by the South Simcoe Police Service for Driving Under Suspension. The driver was provided a summons to court with a future court date.

Careless Driving

(Bradford, ON) On Saturday, June 28, 2024, at approximately 11:55 a.m., officers responded to a call regarding a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of County Road 27 and Line 9 in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury. Upon police arrival, it was determined that a vehicle was travelling Westbound on Line 9 at a high rate of speed and hit another vehicle travelling Northbound on County Road 27. Both vehicles had all airbags deployed and were inoperable. The occupants in both vehicles had minor injuries and were taken to hospital as a precaution. As a result of an investigation, a 82-year-old Mississauga woman was charged with Careless Driving.
