Impaired Operation

(Innisfil, ON) On Monday, December 21, 2020, at approximately 5:45 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch in the 5th Sideroad and Innisfil Beach Road area of Innisfil. When officers arrived, they located the driver, unhurt, standing beside the vehicle which was on its passenger side. After a Fail was registered on a roadside screening device test, the driver was arrested and transported to South Division for further testing. As a result of the investigation, 32-year-old Steven Curtis of Barrie was charged with Impaired Operation, Excess Blood Alcohol Concentration and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. He was released with a future court date.

Impaired Operation

(Innisfil, ON) On Sunday, December 20, 2020, at 8:00 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service responded to a call regarding a suspected impaired driver in a vehicle that had gone into the ditch in the 9th Line and Ralph Street area in Innisfil. Once officers arrived on scene, the driver was arrested for impaired operation and transported to South Division for breath tests. As a result of the investigation, 40-year-old Guillermo Perez Mateo of Innisfil was charged with Impaired Operation, Excess Blood Alcohol Concentration and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. He was released with a future court date. No one was injured.

Domestic Related Breach of Probation

(Bradford, ON) On Friday, December 18, 2020, a woman attended the South Division of the South Simcoe Police Service to report that her former spouse had violated his probation order by making contact with her. As a result of the investigation, the accused was contacted and turned himself in the following day. The 56-year-old Toronto man was charged with Breach of Probation and will appear in Bradford Provincial Court in the new year.
