Stuff A Command Post Toy Drive

(Bradford/Innisfil, ON) The totals are in and our 2018 Stuff A Command Post Toy Drive was a huge success! Every year, we partner with CTV Barrie to grow Toy Mountain. Generous citizens donated $ 33,417.60 worth of toys, gift cards and cash. The mountain of Christmas cheer was delivered on Monday, December 10, 2018 by our officers, new recruits, Auxiliary officers and volunteers to Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions in Barrie.

Here’s the 2018 Toy Drive by numbers:

  •  Number of toys 1,781
  • Value of toys $32,000
  • Gift Cards & Cash $1,417.60

“We are always touched by the overwhelming response. Because of our generous and caring communities, hundreds of children will experience the magic of Christmas with gifts under their tree,” said Sgt. Henry Geoffroy of the Community Mobilization and Engagement Unit.

“The community just put their arms around families and children this year. It’s absolutely amazing,” said Melanie McLearon, director of communications for Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions. “There are children that will have smiles on their faces and they’re going to have happy times with their families over the holidays this year.”

The toys will be distributed to approximately 400 children in Bradford and Innisfil. Merry Christmas and thank you to everyone who worked with us to make a difference this holiday season!
