Impaired Driving Charge 

(Innisfil, ON) On Sunday, April 5, 2020, South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to a report of a suspected impaired driver in Innisfil.

A traffic stop was conducted in the area of Innisfil Beach Road and 25th Sideroad and police detected an odour of alcohol on the driver. After a fail was registered on a roadside screening device, the driver was transported to North Division where breath test readings were over the legal limit.

As a result, 40-year-old Daniel Plaatjes of Innisfil was charged with Operation While Impaired and Over 80. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded.

Domestic Assault 

(Bradford, ON) On Monday, April 6, 2020, South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to a report of a domestic assault in Bradford.

A woman told police that she had been assaulted by her boyfriend who had left the scene. A suspect was arrested nearby. As a result of investigation, a 24-year-old Mount Albert man was charged with Assault and Assault Cause Bodily Harm. The accused was released with a future court date. Names of accused are not released in cases of domestic assault.

Domestic Assault 

(Innisfil, ON) On Sunday, April 5, 2020, South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to a report of a domestic assault in Innisfil.

Once on scene, police learned that a woman and a teenager had been assaulted during a domestic incident. A suspect was arrested nearby and police seized a knife.

As a result of investigation, a 41-year-old Innisfil man was charged with nine offences including two counts of Assault, four counts of Fail to Comply with Undertaking, Carry Concealed Weapon and Domestic Mischief. The accused was held for a bail hearing. Names of accused are not released in cases of domestic assault.

Domestic Assault 

(Bradford, ON) On Saturday, April 5, 2020, South Simcoe Police Service officers were called to a report of a domestic dispute in Bradford involving a husband and wife. Once on scene, police learned that a verbal argument escalated to a physical altercation. As a result of investigation, both the man and the woman were charged with Assault.

The two accused were released with future court dates. Names of accused are not released in cases of domestic assault.
