Dangerous Operation/Stunt Driving/Flight From Police
(Bradford, ON) A 37-year-old Oshawa man faces several charges after a speeding motorcycle failed to stop for police.
On Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at 3:20 p.m., a South Simcoe Police Service officer observed an unplated motorcycle on Holland Street East in Bradford. The officer pulled behind the motorcycle and it fled onto Bridge Street at a high rate of speed. A speed measurement was obtained of 211 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone. A pursuit was not initiated due to public safety and police searched the area for the motorcycle. The motorcycle was located in the area of Highway 11 and Bathurst Street where the driver lost control and stopped. The uninjured driver was arrested.

Flight from Peace Officer
Speeding 211 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone
Fail to comply with judicial release (4 counts)
Drive motor vehicle – no plate
Fail to surrender licence
The accused was held for a bail hearing. His licence was suspended for seven days and his motorcycle impounded for seven days.
(Bradford, ON) On Wednesday, September 2, 2020, around 9:30 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers were called to Highway 27 north of Highway 9 for a two-vehicle collision involving a Dodge Ram pickup truck and a Honda Civic. Once on scene, police learned that the southbound Civic crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with the northbound Dodge. The driver of the Civic was extricated from the car and transported to hospital with serious injuries. The 64-year-old Egbert man driving the Dodge was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the Civic, 35-year-old Anthony Macchioni of Alliston, was charged with Careless Driving. The investigation is ongoing.
