Break and Enter 

(Bond Head, ON) South Simcoe Police Service officers are investigating a break and enter at a gas station in Bond Head. 

Police were called to the gas station located on County Rd. 27 on September 20, 2018 after a private security company responded to an alarm at 4:00 a.m.  

It was determined that a quantity of items valuing several hundred dollars were missing.

UPDATE: Robbery Arrests 

(Bradford, ON) The South Simcoe Police Service Street Crime Unit has made two more arrests following an armed robbery that occurred on September 11, 2018 in the area of Sideroad 10 and County Rd. 88.  

Further search warrants were executed this week in York and Bradford and as a result, a 22-year-old East Gwillimbury man and a 26-year-old Bradford man are facing numerous charges. 

The 22-year-old man is charged with:  

robbery with a weapon 

fail to comply undertaking 

possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose 

conspiracy to commit indictable offence 

 

The 26-year-old man is charged with: 

robbery with a weapon (2 counts) 

possession of a controlled substance 

possession for the purpose of trafficking 

possession of a weapon for dangerous prupose 

conspiracy to commit indictable offence 

 

An 18-year-old Bradford man and a 17-year-old Bradford youth were previously charged in connection with the robbery after search warrants were executed last week.  

 

Street Crime Unit officers worked diligently on this case which resulted in four arrests. This specialized unit within South Simcoe Police Service has proven time and again how invaluable it is in keeping our communities safe. 

 

Impaired Driving/Over 80 

(Bradford, ON) A 71-year-old Bradford woman is charged after a citizen called police to report a suspected impaired driver in Bradford. 

On Wednesday, September 19, 2018, around 8:00 p.m., police responded to the area of Holland St. West and Melbourne Dr. After checking the area officers located the vehicle in question. 

When police spoke to the female driver, they detected an odour of alcohol and other signs of impairment. The driver was placed under arrest for impaired driving and transported to South Division for breath testing. As a result, the driver was also charged with Over 80. Her licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle impounded. She has a court date in October. 

 

Impaired Driving/Over 80 

(Bradford, ON) On Sunday, September 16, 2018 around 6:45 p.m., police were flagged down by a concerned citizen.  

The citizen reported that there was a vehicle that was running, appeared empty and might have rolled out a driveway on a street in the Barrie St. and Holland St. East area. When police approached the vehicle they could see a man in the front seat and detected an odour of alcohol. The man was placed under arrest for impaired driving and was transported to South Division for breath testing. The tests resulted in readings of more than twice the legal limit. A 31-year-old Bradford man was charged with impaired driving and Over 80. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded. He was released with a future court date. 

Thank you to the great citizens who brought these two incidents to our attention. Impaired driving is one of our top priorities due to the danger it poses to innocent citizens. By working together, we can make a difference in road safety.  

 

On Wednesday, September 19, 2018, South Simcoe Police Service responded to 57 calls for service.
