QUOTE: Detective Sergeant Kai Johnson, Criminal Investigation Bureau
“South Simcoe Police Service is committed to the protection of our children and continues to work with policing partners worldwide to ensure the safety of children.”
This is one of several international child luring investigations in the past year that has been brought to a successful conclusion by South Simcoe Police Service in conjunction with other law enforcement agencies. We urge parents to be vigilant and involved in their child’s internet activities, especially during the pandemic. Talk to children about the potential risks and monitor their internet use. With more children isolating at home and more offenders also self-isolating, there will be increased risk.
