Prohibited Driver

(Bradford, ON) On June 26, 2024, a 34-year-old accused Barrie man attended our South Division on foot from the Sobeys for his fingerprints and was recognized by another officer as a criminally prohibited driver. Suspecting he drove to Bradford, officers followed him on foot to the Sobeys after his fingerprints were completed.

Officers observed the accused opening the front door of an SUV, which was found to be registered to the accused’s company. While police were checking Sobeys exterior security cameras, the accused left the immediate area on foot. Officers confirmed that the accused drove the same vehicle into the Sobeys parking lot, where it was still parked. Police searched the area and located the accused close by.

As a result of an investigation, the SUV was seized for 45-days and the accused was charged with:
– Operate conveyance while prohibited x2
– Breach of probation
– Drive no licence
– Fail to drive motor vehicle without ignition interlock device
