Impaired Driving/Over 80

(Bradford, ON) On Wednesday, February 5, 2020 around 5:00 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers were dispatched to Holland Street in Bradford for a report of a possible impaired driver. After arriving on scene, an odour of alcohol odour was detected. The driver was arrested and transported to South Division where breath tests resulted in readings well over the legal limit.

34-year-old Brandi-Rae Campbell of Newmarket was charged with Operation While Impaired and Over 80. Her licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle impounded for seven days. She was released with a future court date.

Thank you to all the citizens, including the caller from this incident, who report suspected impaired drivers. Impaired driving is a crime in progress. Dial 911 if you see someone driving erratically or witness any other signs of possible impairment.

Shoplifting Arrests 

(Innisfil, ON) On Wednesday, February 5, 2020, around 7:30 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to a shoplifting call from security at the Tanger Outlet Mall located on County Road 89 in Cookstown. Police were advised that two suspects had entered multiple stores, selected merchandise and left without paying. Police arrived on scene and the suspects were arrested as they were driving away from the mall.

32-year-old Devin Ellison of Pickering and 51-year-old Andrea Watson of Ajax are both charged with Theft Over $5,000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence. The accused were released from custody with a future court date. Police recovered a quantity of stolen property that included clothes, shoes and fragrances.

On Wednesday, February 5, 2020, South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to 68 calls for service.
