UPDATE: Arrest in Armed Robbery

(Bradford, ON) South Simcoe Police Service officers have made an arrest following an armed robbery in Bradford West Gwillimbury last summer.

The robbery occurred on Friday, August 31, 2018 around 12:30 a.m., at a gas station near Highway 400 and County Rd. 88. A man armed with what appeared to be a handgun entered the station and made a demand for cash. An employee complied and the suspect fled with a quantity of cash. The employee was not physically injured during the incident.

As a result of an intensive investigation by the South Simcoe Police Service Street Crime Unit, a suspect was arrested on Wednesday, February 20, 2019.

Police have charged a 31-year-old Innisfil man with the following offences:

Robbery with a firearm

Robbery with theft

Fail to comply with recognizance

Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose’

Point firearm

Utter threats

Fail to comply with recognizance – 3 counts

The accused was held for a bail hearing.
