UPDATE #3: Death Investigation Now Ruled a Homicide
(Bradford, ON) The South Simcoe Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in relation to a homicide investigation after the body of a man was recovered from the Bradford canal on Friday, April 15, 2022, at approximately 1:30 p.m., in the area of Simcoe Road and Canal Road.
A post-mortem examination completed over the weekend at the Centre of Forensic Sciences in Toronto revealed the victim, Mojtaba Shabani, 37, died as the result of a homicide.
Police have determined that Shabani had ties to Toronto and are currently appealing to the public for any information relating to the victim, his next of kin information or his close associates.
Although Shabani is believed to be have been transient in nature, he may have had access to the following vehicles:
1- 2004 grey Honda Accord *CHAW891*
2- 2001 blue Honda Civic *BVHR490*
3- 2003 red Volkswagon *CFPC027*
The investigation is ongoing and further details such as the cause of death, will not be released at this time.
