Arrests in Purse Theft 

(Bradford, ON) South Simcoe Police Service officers have arrested a Bradford couple following the theft of a purse from a shopping cart.

The theft occurred on Sunday, April 7, 2019 during the noon hour at a department store on Holland Street West in Bradford. On Wednesday, April 17, 2019, police arrested a man and a woman and executed a search warrant at a Bradford home. As a result of investigation, a number of charges were laid and stolen property recovered.

A 30-year-old Bradford woman is charged with:

Theft under $5,000

Possession of property obtained by crime (2 counts)

Breach of probation (3 counts)

Use of a credit card

A 33-year-old Bradford man is charged with:

Possession of property obtained by crime (3 counts)

Use of credit card (2 counts)

The accused were released with future court dates.

These arrests come as a result of some dogged police work by our officers. We would like to again remind the public to always keep a watchful eye on personal items, especially purses, while out in public.
