(Bradford, ON) A 52-year-old Aurora man is charged with impaired driving and careless driving following a two-vehicle collision in Bradford.
On Wednesday, April 10, 2019, around 5:00 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to a report of a minor, two-vehicle collision on Highway 88 near Highway 400. A caller told police that one of the drivers was showing signs of impairment. When officers arrived, they arrested a man at the scene for impaired driving and transported him to South Division for breath tests. Readings were recorded of nearly twice the legal limit of alcohol. The man was charged with impaired driving, Over 80 and careless driving. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.
We are tremendously grateful to the citizen who alerted us to an impaired driver. Impaired driving is a crime in progress. We encourage our residents to call 9-1-1 if they spot a suspected impaired driver. Our efforts are focussed on ongoing enforcement including year-round RIDE programs, public education and media and social media campaigns. When we work together, our communities are safer.
(Bradford, ON) South Simcoe Police Service officers have made three arrests following a shoplifting incident last October.
On Thursday, April 11, 2019, police arrested three Toronto women aged 18, 21 and 22 and charged them with Theft Under $5,000.
On Wednesday, October 3, 2018, around 7:30 p.m., police were dispatched to a drug store located on Holland Street West in Bradford. Investigation revealed that several female suspects came into the store and walked out with a quantity of merchandise without making any attempt to pay. The accused females were released with a future court date.
