SOUTH SIMCOE POLICE LAUNCHES POLICE WEEK WITH ANNUAL OPEN HOUSE

(INNISFIL/BRADFORD, ON) – Police Week in Ontario runs from May 11-17, and the South Simcoe Police Service is proud to join services from across the province by hosting our Annual Open House on Saturday, May 10, 2025.

This year’s theme, Protecting Ontario, highlights the importance of building safe communities and the important role police members play in maintaining public safety throughout Ontario. Police Week was first observed in 1970. Since then, Ontario police services and community members have come together to honour and celebrate police officers and personnel for the extraordinary work they do every day.

The South Simcoe Police Annual Open House is an opportunity for the public to meet our members and learn about our police service including our specialized units. Auxiliary officers will be on hand providing walkthrough tours of both our North and South Divisions. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore our vintage car and police equipment, meet our police dog, Nitro, see our Mounted Unit consisting of two horses owned by Briarwood Farm that are provided to South Simcoe Police for ceremonial purposes. There will be plenty of opportunities to take pictures with South Simcoe Police Service members. We are also encouraging attendees to bring their bicycles to have them checked for safety and ensure they are ready for the road.

Bring your family and friends as we celebrate Police Week. The event is free, and everyone is welcome to attend.
