POLICE SERVICES BOARD CHAIR ACCLAIMED AND NEW VICE CHAIR APPOINTED
(BRADFORD/INNISFIL, ON) – In accordance with the Community Safety and Policing Act (CSPA), the Bradford West Gwillimbury/Innisfil Police Services Board held its annual elections on January 28, 2026. The Board is pleased to announce the acclamation of Chris Gariepy as Chair, and Janece Kristman as Vice Chair for the 2026 term.
Chris Gariepy was appointed by the province to the Bradford West Gwillimbury/Innisfil Police Services Board in 2019. He was elected Vice Chair in 2020 and has served as the Board Chair since January 2021. Chris is a third-generation member of a Simcoe County family, and a 20-year resident of Innisfil. He is a strong advocate for the region, committed to supporting and giving back to local communities. With over 40 years of diverse business and entrepreneurial experience, he has a deep understanding of the needs and challenges of our communities, enabling him to push for positive and impactful change. His focus on supporting the safety and well-being of community members is a true reflection of his passion and dedication to serving as the Police Services Board Chair for the Bradford West Gwillimbury and Innisfil communities.

Janece Kristman has served on the Bradford West Gwillimbury/Innisfil Police Services Board as a Municipal Appointee Member since March 2025. Janece has been a resident of Bradford for 41 years and resides with her husband, John. They raised their two sons, who continue to live in the community with their families. Janece has worked in the public sector for 28 years, specifically in human resources management.

The Police Services Board is the civilian body governing the South Simcoe Police Service. The Board is regulated by the CSPA, which oversees law enforcement and public safety in Ontario with a commitment to transparent and effective governance. The CSPA mandates annual elections for these leadership roles to ensure accountability and the continuous renewal of perspectives within police governance.
