Impaired Driving/Fail to Remain

(Innisfil, ON) On Sunday, September 13, 2020, around 3:00 a.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers were called to a report of a vehicle striking a guard rail on Highway 400 and then exiting at County Road 89. When officers arrived on scene, they located the vehicle in a ditch on County Road 89 between the 10th Sideroad and the 400. Police spoke to the driver who was walking away from the scene. He was arrested for impaired driving and transported to North Division where breath test results were over the legal limit. Charged with Operation While Impaired, Over 80 and Failure to Stop at the Scene of an Accident was 31-year-old Sergio Pineda of Barrie. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. There were no injuries.
