(Innisfil, ON) On Saturday, September 11, 2021 at approximately 3:00 p.m., the South Simcoe Police Service was called to a multi-vehicle collision on Sideroad 10 just south of Highway 89 in Innisfil.
Once on scene, police learned that a Nissan Versa travelling northbound on Sideroad 10 struck a Ford Cargo Van in front of it, then crossed into southbound traffic and hit a Volkswagon Jetta head-on. A southbound Honda CRV then hit the back of the Jetta and went into the ditch. After the collision, witnesses told police the female driver of the Nissan exited her vehicle and ran into the woods. The K9 Unit was called out and a perimeter was set up. K9 Nitro began to track into the wooded area and a short time later located the woman concealed under very thick foliage. The woman was unresponsive and had to be carried out of the woods by police, firefighters and paramedics. She was transported to a local hospital. Two people from the Jetta were also taken to hospital. All of the injuries were considered non-life-threatening.
