Impaired Driving Charge

(Innisfil, ON) On Saturday, May 1, 2021, at approximately 4:20 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers were called regarding a vehicle driving erratically northbound on the 25th Sideroad in Innisfil. When police arrived on scene, they located the vehicle parked facing westbound in the southbound lane of traffic. The driver was arrested for impaired driving and transported to North Division. As a result of the investigation, 67-year-old Wolfgang Lausch of Innisfil was charged with Operation While Impaired and Operation While Impaired – Excess Blood Alcohol. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.

Driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is a crime in progress and we’re grateful to the members of the public who call 911 to report such incidents. Arrest Following Hit and Run

(Innisfil, ON) On Monday, May 3, 2021, at approximately 7:00 a.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to the intersection of 20th Sideroad and 7th Line for a fail to remain collision. Once on scene, police learned that a vehicle had been rear-ended at the intersection and the suspect vehicle left the scene. Investigation led police to a nearby address where a man was arrested. 27-year-old Ryan Walker of Innisfil was charged with Failure to Stop After Accident, Fail to Report Accident, Driving While Under Suspension and Breach of Probation Order. The accused was released with a future court date. The driver of the vehicle that was struck was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

From Friday, April 30, 2021, to Monday, May 3, 2021, South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to 193 calls for service.
