Impaired Driving/Dangerous Driving
(Innisfil, ON) On Friday, March 19, 2020, at approximately 9:20 p.m., a South Simcoe Police Service officer in a marked police cruiser was travelling northbound on Yonge Street in Innisfil. Just north of Highway 89, a vehicle that was parked on the right shoulder pulled in front of the cruiser and accelerated at a high speed. The vehicle was clocked at 120 km/h in a posted 80 zone and driving erratically. A traffic stop was conducted. The driver was arrested for impaired driving and transported to North Division. As a result of the investigation, 42-year-old Gustavo Espejo of Innisfil was charged with Dangerous Operation, Operation While Impaired and Operation While Impaired – Excess Blood Alcohol. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. He was released with a future court date.

Stunt Driving/Speeding/Driving While Under Suspension
(Bradford, ON) On Friday, March 19, 2021, at approximately 11:45 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Bridge Street in Bradford. A speed measurement was obtained of 109 km/h in the posted 50 zone and a vehicle stop was conducted. As a result of the investigation, 34-year-old Jason Musclow of Holland Landing was charged with Stunt Driving, Speeding and Driving While Under Suspension. He was issued a 7-day licence suspension and his vehicle was impounded for seven days. He was released with a future court date.

Operation While Prohibited
(Bradford, ON) On Saturday, March 20, 2021, at approximately 11:00 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers were called about a vehicle driving erratically on Highway 400 that had just exited and was going eastbound on Highway 88 in Bradford. Officers checked the area, located the vehicle at a gas station and conducted a traffic stop.
As a result of the investigation, 56-year-old Eugenio Gentile of Toronto was charged with Operation While Prohibited by Order Under the Criminal Code. The vehicle, which belonged to a relative, was impounded for 45 days.
From Friday, March 19, 2021, to Monday, March 22, 2021, South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to 215 calls for service.
