Impaired Driving Charges Follow Fail to Remain Crash
(Bradford, ON) On Saturday, June 19, 2021, at approximately 10:30 p.m., the South Simcoe Police Service was called to a fail to remain, single vehicle collision in Bradford.
Witnesses reported that a northbound vehicle on Simcoe Road attempted to pass another northbound vehicle by driving on the right hand side. The suspect vehicle mounted the curb and struck two hydro poles, severing one of the poles and causing live wires to contact each other and emit a large spark. The suspect vehicle came to a stop and the driver fled on foot. Police subsequently conducted a vehicle stop on a pickup truck that was seen near the crash site. A passenger in the truck was identified as the driver in the fail to remain collision and was arrested.
As a result of the investigation, 20-year-old Chase Lawlor of Bradford was charged with Operation While Impaired, Operation While Impaired – Excess Blood Alcohol, Dangerous Operation, Fail to Stop After Accident, Obstruct Peace Officer and Failure to Comply with Undertaking.
His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days. There were no injuries as a result of the collision.

Always drive sober or don’t drive.
