Impaired Driving/Drug Possession/Breach of Probation
(Bradford, ON) A Holland Landing man faces several charges including drug impaired driving following a traffic stop in Bradford.
On Monday, June 15, 2020, around 12:30 a.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers investigated an illegally plated vehicle on Holland Street West and subsequently seized the licence plates. Around 2:30 a.m., police located a man who appeared to be passed out in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. Drug paraphernalia and suspected cocaine were also observed inside. The man was arrested for impaired driving and drug possession. A second man was arrested at the scene for drug possession. A Drug Recognition Expert conducted an examination of the man found inside the vehicle. As a result of investigation, 46-year-old Terry Renshaw of Holland Landing was charged with Impaired Operation, Operation While Impaired by Drug, two counts of Drug Possession and Breach of Probation. 35-year-old Joshua Balasingam of Newmarket was charged with two counts of Drug Possession and Breach of Probation. The two accused were released with future court dates.
Witnesses Sought to Incident at Bradford Business
(Bradford, ON) South Simcoe Police Service officers are appealing for witnesses to an incident at a business in Bradford.
On Monday, June 15, 2020, around 3:00 a.m., police were called to 3 Scoops Ice Cream & General Store on Barrie Street after unknown suspect(s) broke a window. Anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area is asked to contact South Simcoe Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
(Innisfil, ON) South Simcoe Police Service officers have charged an Innisfil man after some teenagers were threatened and one of them robbed of his hat.
On Sunday, June 14, 2020, around 5:30 p.m., police responded to a robbery call in the area of Innisfil Beach Road and St. Johns Road. Upon arrival, police learned that a man repeatedly approached a teenager and his friends, demanding the youth’s hat and then threatening the group with a knife. A suspect was arrested near the scene. 51-year-old Kenneth Boorman of Innisfil was charged with Robbery, four counts of Uttering Threats, four counts of Assault with a Weapon, Possession of Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Possession of Drugs (suspected cocaine). He was released with a future court date. No one was injured.
Stolen Vehicle Recovered
(Innisfil, ON) South Simcoe Police Service officers recently conducted an investigation into a stolen vehicle from Bracebridge which led to a search warrant being executed at a residential property in Innisfil. Two residents were charged and a third individual was arrested for an outstanding warrant. Police recovered the stolen, 2017 Dodge Ram, keys and personal property of the owner.
Joshua Mattinson, 22, and Harlee Skinner-Jackson, 24, were arrested and charged for possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. Robin Tobin, 31, was arrested for the warrant and was also charged with failing to comply and possession of a controlled substance.
From Friday, June 12, 2020 to Monday, June 15, 2020, South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to 230 calls for service.
